Built for Kiwis. By Kiwis.
ExMarket is New Zealand's customer-first community marketplace. Barter items, swap skills, and carpool together — all on a platform that respects your time, your money, and your privacy.
Our Mission
We're building the most customer-friendly marketplace in New Zealand. That means giving every Kiwi a place to trade, earn, and travel without hidden fees, distracting ads, or the feeling that the platform is working against you. Community first, profit second — because we believe the two go hand in hand.
Our Promises to You
Four commitments that shape every product decision
No hidden fees
Listing is free. Carpool is free. Escrow is free. You only pay when you top up credits — and you can earn credits instead if you prefer.
Your data stays yours
We don't sell your browsing history, contacts, or transaction data to anyone. Ever. Your phone number and email are never shared with other users without your consent.
Fair by design
Small sellers and individuals get the same visibility as anyone else. Search results aren't pay-to-win — promoted listings are clearly labelled and limited to a small fraction of the page.
Built for NZ
Made in New Zealand, for New Zealand. NZD pricing, Kiwi community guidelines, and support you can actually get through to.
🚫 No ads. Ever.
Every other marketplace sells your attention to advertisers. We don't. No third-party banner ads, no pop-ups, no tracking pixels, no selling your data. We fund the platform through transparent, optional revenue: sellers can pay to promote their own listings (always clearly marked ✨Promoted) and users can top up credits. That's it. Your feed stays focused on what you're looking for — not what someone paid to put in front of you.
🚗 Carpool & Rideshare
Carpool is a core feature, not an afterthought. Regular commuters and occasional travellers alike use ExMarket to share rides across New Zealand.
⛽ Save money on petrol
Split fuel costs with passengers heading the same way. A weekly Auckland–Hamilton commute can save hundreds a month.
🌿 Cut carbon emissions
Fewer cars on the road means less CO₂. Every shared ride earns bonus credits that can only be spent on more rides — rewarding sustainable choices.
🔁 Recurring commutes made easy
Post daily, weekly, or weekdays-only routes with an end date. Regular riders can find you without reposting every week.
🔐 Privacy-first design
You control what to share. Use general areas like "Auckland CBD" instead of exact addresses. Live GPS tracking is opt-in and only visible to booked riders during an active ride.
How It Works
Four simple steps from listing to review
1. Create a Listing or Post a Ride
Sign up for free and list an item, service, or carpool route. Add photos, set your price or split, and choose whether you want to sell, exchange, or share. Your post is visible to everyone immediately.
2. Connect & Negotiate
Found something you want or a ride that matches your commute? Message the other person directly through our built-in chat. Discuss details, negotiate prices, or propose an exchange.
3. Secure the Deal
For purchases and ride bookings, payments are held in escrow until both parties confirm. For exchanges, agree on meetup or pickup arrangements through the platform.
4. Rate & Review
After a successful deal or ride, leave a rating and review. This helps build trust in the community and lets others know who the reliable traders and drivers are.
Trust & Safety
🔒 Secure Escrow Payments
Money is held safely until the buyer or rider confirms delivery. Neither party is at risk.
✅ User Verification
Users sign up with verified email or Google accounts. Ratings and reviews build a trust profile over time.
⚖️ Dispute Resolution
If a deal or ride goes wrong, either party can open a dispute. We help mediate to reach a fair resolution.
🛡️ Community Moderation
Our admin team monitors listings, rides, and forum activity. Abusive users and prohibited content are removed promptly.
